Music Balances Racing With Community Service In KDDP

CONCORD, North Carolina (August 25, 2026) – Ryley Music faced on-track struggles during the Kulwicki Driver Development Program’s second segment, but the Virginia native didn’t let that have a negative impact on his charitable work.

          Music, who’s currently fifth in this year’s KDDP competition, started his Mission Christmas toy drive that benefits children in the Norfolk and Hampton Roads, Virginia, area. The 18-year-old Late Model driver at Langley (Va.) Speedway has already collected more than 300 toys and donations exceeding $2,000. Music plans to continue collecting new, unwrapped toys through December. He also plans to conduct a coat drive this fall to benefit the needy in the Norfolk area where he resides.

Naval Station Norfolk is the world’s largest naval station and Music also has an initiative to benefit veterans. He has planned a fundraising car meet with One Matters Inc., a Hampton Roads-based non-profit that builds adaptive housing and provides pathways to homeownership for disabled and homeless veterans.

          On track, Music is still looking for his first victory this season, but overall, in 2026, he has produced one top five and 12 top 10s. Five of those top 10s came during the second segment.

          This year, members of Alan Kulwicki’s 1992 championship team and veteran drivers are mentoring the “Underbirds.” Music’s mentor is veteran driver Ken Schrader.

          The driver occupying fourth in the standings after the second segment will be announced Wednesday.
