
Gluchacki Takes The Lead In The Kulwicki Driver Development Program
CONCORD, North Carolina (August 29, 2025) – With a strong on-track performance during the Kulwicki Driver Development Program’s second segment, Derek Gluchacki took the lead in the standings of the only driver development program that gives scholarships to its participants. The Massachusetts native, who was the runner-up in the program last year, won two feature races and a heat event, and placed third in another. In an American-Canadian Tour race at Seekonk (Mass.) Speedway, Gluchacki won a heat race and the feature after starting seventh. He also started seventh at New London-Waterford Speedbowl in Waterford, Conn., and won that event. In the ACT 250 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in Woodstock, N.H., he started 14 th and finished third after a quick pit stop allowed him to pass nine cars on pit road.
In addition to continuing his crew chief/car setup business, Gluchacki spearheaded several community projects.
He raised $1,525 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation at White Mountain Motorsports Park, selling 305 laps.
He donated 113 toys and 14 food items to the Rhode Island Center Assisting Those In Need.
He took coffee and doughnuts to the Freetown, Mass., police department.
This year, members of Alan Kulwicki’s 1992 NASCAR Cup championship team are mentoring the five “Underbirds.” Gluchacki’s mentor is Peter Jellen.
